With the recent drought Oakwood Glen has lost over 100 trees in the front and back parks. For everyone’s safety we have hired a contractor to remove the trees and debris. While cleaning the back park up the contractor found and killed a very large snake. Please supervise your children playing in the back park.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

The Harris County Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Facility is located in the northwest area of Harris County at the Harris County Multiuse Facility.
Residents of Harris County who reside outside of the incorporated City of Houston limits may use the facility to properly dispose of hazardous items in their homes that they no longer want. City of Houston residents and other local non-Harris County residents can click here for information about other local collection programs.

9:00 a.m.. to 3:00 p.m. The facility will be closed the weeks of Nov. 21st, Dec. 19th and Dec. 26th for the holidays.

Items accepted at the HHW facility include, but are not limited to household cleaners, yard/automobile products, pool chemicals, paint and paint related products, batteries, tires, items containing mercury (e.g. mercury thermometers, Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs), and fluorescent tubes), aerosols, and small and BBQ size propane cylinders.
The Facility does NOT accept the following items: electronics, traditional recyclables (paper, cans, plastic), any items used for business purposes, medical and biological waste, explosives (including ammunition and firecrackers), compressed gas cylinders, radioactive waste (including smoke detectors), household appliances such as washers, dryers, freezers, air conditioners, heavy trash or household trash. TO ALL HOMEOWNERS IN OAKWOOD GLEN SUBDIVISIONS, SECTIONS ONE (1) AND TWO (2)
PURSUANT TO TEXAS LAWS THIS NOTICE IS GIVEN OF THE UPCOMING ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS OF THE OAKWOOD GLEN ASSOCIATION. THE FIRST MEETING WAS HELD ON OCTOBER 18TH AT 7 PM AT THE CLUBHOUSE LOCATED AT 17902 HAWK HAVEN, SPRING, TEXAS. AT THIS TIME THE QUORUM REQUIREMENT WAS 90 BALLOTS/PROXIES, THIS NUMBER WAS NOT MET SO ACCORDING TO THE BY-LAWS OF OAKWOOD GLEN ASSOCIATION THE MEMBERS PRESENT VOTED TO HAVE THE NEXT ANNUAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 15TH AT 7 PM AT THE OAKWOOD GLEN CLUBHOUSE LOCATED AT 17902 HAWK HAVEN; AT THIS MEETING THE BY-LAWS ALLOW FOR A QUORUM REQUIREMENT OF ½ OF THE INITIAL REQUIREMENT OF 90 BALLOTS, HOWEVER THERE WERE ONLY 38 BALLOTS/PROXIES RETURNED FROM THE
MAILBOUT IN OCTOBER.
THE MEMBERS PRESENT VOTED TO HOLD THE NEXT ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS ON JANUARY 17TH 2012, AT WHICH TIME IT IS HOPED THAT THERE WILL BE SUFFICIENT BALLOTS/PROXIES TO CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER AND TO ELECT 3 NEW DIRECTORS TO THREE YEAR TERMS.
IT ALSO IS NOTED THAT THE BOARD NOW HAS TWO BOARD POSITIONS TO FILL OUTSIDE OF THE ELECTION OF THE THREE DIRECTORS. THE MEMBERS PRESENT AT THE JANUARY 17TH MEETING WILL VOTE ALONG WITH THE BOARD ON ANY PARTY ACCEPTABLE TO THE BOARD, THE 2 DIRECTORS TO FILL THE REMAINING TERMS OF TWO (2) DIRECTORS THAT HAD TO RESIGN. SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE BOARD PLEASE COME AND PRESENT YOURSELF TO BE APPOINTED
TO FILL THE REMAINING TERMS OF TWO (2) DIRECTORS. ALL HOMEOWNER’S ARE QUALIFIED AND WILL BE CONSIDERED BY THE BOARD AND THE MEMBERS PRESENT AT THE JANUARY 17TH MEETING.
